My Philosophy

Let the job interviews commence! Recently I have been working hard on finding a job, but not just any job, a career. It has been a rather daunting task to find employment that falls in line with my strict criteria (and I do suggest having one) but I have been able to apply to one job per day this week. Annnd I have a phone interview on Tuesday, YAY! I think. I did an interview a few weeks ago for a small art studio but upon learning more about the organization I realized it would not be a fit for me. It was still a blessing to have the interview because I realized that I had not really thought out the questions I might be asked, for instance, "what are three words that describe your philosophy?" at the time I made something up, but now that I have had some time to think about it my three words are:

Loyalty
Authenticity
Creativity

I think having conversations with others even in a job interview setting and being asked questions that make you reflect on how you move through life can be motivational and self inspiring. Just some food for thought. So "What are three words that describe your philosophy?"

Who You Are Dress

Just be your self, people say this all the time sometimes to calm themselves down about their insecurities or to make sure they are loved for their true colors. What "being myself" means to me is being the person I was at the best times of my life. Being the person I was when I loved my first horse Ari, being the person I was when I was five and thought I would grow up to be a "natural scientist" these are the people I wish to embody every day of my life. I know it's a little out-there but seriously think to yourself about the times in your life you were uninfluenced by others and chasing something that meant a lot to you. Grasp it and be that person! I tried to capture that soul in this outfit. A simple black maxi dress because its comfortable yet elegant and earthy accessories for the "natural wanderer" in me.

Anniversary Hike with Amber French Photography

Here are some of my favorite photos from our anniversary hike back in June celebrating 3 years together! We were very fortunate to work with Amber French, who was willing to hike to the top of Rattlesnake Ledge for this shoot. I think it really paid off with a spectacular view! You could say that this shoot was inspired by our love of the outdoors and although there was no "Paradise Falls" there are some "UP" references. So enjoy our photos and remember...

Adventure is out there!

"Cool" Recipes for the Hot

It is so hot up here in Bellevue! To beat the heat I have been trying out some "cool" recipes. I heard through the grapevine about making a bowl for frozen or refrigerated food out of ice and adding fruit or flowers to add a pop of color. To make the bowl all you need is...
  • Two stacking bowls
  • Tape
  • Filtered water
  • Sliced fruit, berries, or flower petals
First, place the smaller bowl inside the larger one, fill it with filtered water, tape the side of the smaller bowl to the larger one to prevent it from floating to one side and making an uneven edge. Then add your flower petals, or fruit slices (in my case) to the water. Set the bowl in the freezer and let sit overnight. I placed a heavy object in the center of mine so that the center of the ice bowl would be deeper.

Another quicker more popular trick is adding fruit or flowers to an ice cube try for flavor infused water.

Kiesza - Hideaway (Official Video)

Love, love, love... when I first heard her music it reminded me of Night at the Roxbury and sure enough she did a cover of one of the soundtrack songs "What is Love." This video for her song "Hideaway" is amazing it was done in one take! I cannot wait for her album! enjoy...
