Little Si // Northbend, WA

The last few weeks have been challenging to say the least! I will leave it at that and move on. (Although that is why there have been no posts lately) Anyway, lets just say all of my expectations were shot down which is my own fault for even having them in the first place right? right. So today Paul and I decided to get out and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. It has been so wonderful here in Seattle lately it was 61 degrees today! It's January seriously. We decided to hike Little Si in preparation for "one day" climbing Big Si. It was a fun hike about 5 miles round trip and if you have ever hiked Rattlesnake Ledge it is only a little more complicated with a just as gorgeous view from the top. I think that this is a great hike for beginners as long as you are prepared. It was pretty slippery and very treacherous in term of rocks, sticks, and debris laying in the path. So although I saw many people jogging, that's maybe not the best idea due to all the trip hazards. There were many dogs on the trail and plenty of opportunities to veer off and take a quick break. I totally recommend this hike for your next weekend outdoor adventure!

* Little tip I am pretty sure we were supposed to have a Discover Pass for this hike you can purchase that >>> HERE

Reinvent & Reimagine

It has been a rough rough week! I am in a pretty big transitionary state of my life right now, trying to figure out my career goals and ultimate life plan. And well there were some major set backs this week that made me STOP and THINK about what I was doing and why. I found myself getting frustrated and comparing myself to other people, but in reality I just needed to reassess the situation. So I am adopting the mindset of reinvention. I am not going to try to recreate other peoples success, or recreate my past, I am simply going to take my life and the things that have been working well for me and reimagine them. It's going to be a busy year for Paul and I and so I think this mindset will help to get things rolling down the right path.

Sparkle in the New Year!

Happy 2015! I am so excited for another year full of adventure, excitement, and new hopes and dreams. I could list all of my New Year resolutions but I think I will just keep them to myself and vow to work on them as hard as I did last year. This photo shoot was done at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Washington. Paul and I visited family at one of the beautiful rustic cabins. I am still in awe of the gorgeous view of the mountains that surrounds the entire community. I felt sort of weird doing fashion shoots like this, but then I ask myself why? I love fashion and I love designing shoots. I guess it's just the fact that I am NOT in anyway a model but that really should not stop anyone from feeling gorgeous or worthy. There is this beautiful quote that I read somewhere that talks about this and I thought I would share it going into the New Year.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
